Displaced by a natural disaster, in search of answers? Know someone who is, and want to help? We know how that feels. After evacuation orders are issued, you should leave, for your personal safety. That's when the questions start. Is my home OK? Are my friends and families homes and businesses intact? If not, what now? Aftermath Research was started to provide better information in the wake of a natural disaster, to homeowners, emergency responders, response and recovery managers, insurance carriers, whoever could use the information.

Damage after a disaster is not the same everywhere. One home will be destroyed, while next door, it's gone. We map the spatial heterogeneity of damage to the building level, and can provide answers quickly. (Image: Palisades, CA 2025)

We're building a scientific-grade dataset. We want to compile the best information to better plan for resilience communities, and plan the built environment in a smarter way.
